Miele PW 6207 door lock problem10/7/2023 Symptom: It's is often difficult to start the cycle. The machine reports a door open. When starting a program you can hear it try 3 times relay clicking, then it gives up with the message in the photo below. If we turn it off and leave it 5 mins then it is sometimes it is OK after that. This machine is a PW 6207 D, there are other sizes in this range, presumably with the same lock- PW 6107 D and PW 6167 D. Info found on the internet says to check two things, the main door switch 7740902, and the power board (main PCB) ELP 235 Part number 09867690. We called an Engineer out from Gillman's he thought we should replace the power board first, turns out he was right. And the power board is half the cost of the door lock. The power board he used was an updated one with a slightly different part number 9867691. He did tell us the power board needs programming so this is not a DIY job. The photo below shows the old faulty power board.
